Printing Worksheets

1To begin previewing a worksheet to be printed, on the Standard toolbar, click the Print Preview button.
2To increase the display size of the previewed worksheet, in the Print Preview window, click Zoom.
3To restore the display size of the worksheet, click Zoom again.
4To begin modifying the worksheet setup, click Setup.
5To change the orientation of the page to horizontal, in the Page Setup dialog box, in the Orientation section, click the Landscape option, and click OK.
6To begin realigning the margins so that the company logo fits, click Margins.
7To realign the margins, position the pointer over the indicated horizontal margin, and when the pointer changes to a double-headed arrow, drag it up to the indicated location.
8To begin modifying the page breaks, click Page Break Preview.
9To change the page width, position the pointer above the vertical page break line, and when the pointer changes to a double-headed arrow, drag the line to the border between columns G and H.
10To switch back to Normal view, click the View menu, and click Normal.
11To begin specifying which parts of the workbook should be printed, click the File menu, and click Page Setup.
12In the Page Setup dialog box, click the Sheet tab.
13To display cells containing error notifications as blank cells in the printed worksheet, in the Print section, click the Cell errors as box arrow, and click <blank>.
14To change the print order of pages, in the Page order section, click the Over, then down option, and click OK.
15To select noncontiguous worksheets, press the CTRL key, on the tab bar, click the March tab, and release the CTRL key.
16To begin printing the selected worksheets, click the File menu, and click Print.
17To print the active worksheet, click OK.

Printing Part of a Worksheet

1To begin printing pages from a multiple-page worksheet, click the File menu, and click Print.
2To begin selecting pages to be printed, in the Print dialog box, in the Print range section, click the Page(s) option.
3To select the first page to be printed, in the From box, click the Up arrow two times, and then press TAB to move the cursor to the To box.
4To select the last page of the page range to be printed, in the To box, click the Up arrow three times (until the number 3 appears).
5To print the selected range of pages, click OK.
6To begin modifying the print range to fit on a single page, click the File menu, and click Page Setup.
7To resize the worksheet, so that the entire worksheet fits on one printed page, in the Page Setup dialog box, in the Scaling section, click the Fit to option, and then click OK.
8To begin defining portions of the worksheet to be printed, press and hold down the SHIFT key, click cell G12, and release the SHIFT key.
9To set the selected area as the print area, click the File menu, point to Print Area, and click Set Print Area.
10To preview the selected print area, on the Standard toolbar, click the Print Preview button.
11To begin changing the alignment of data on the printed page, in the Print Preview window, click Setup.
12To adjust the margins of the print area, in the Page Setup dialog box, click the Margins tab.
13To align the selection horizontally at the center of the page, in the Center on page section, click Horizontally to select it.
14To align the selection vertically to the center of the page, in the Center on page section, click Vertically to select it, and then click OK.
15To return to the active worksheet, in the Print Preview window, click Close.
16To select a different area for printing, click the File menu, point to Print Area, and click Clear Print Area.
17To select a portion of the worksheet that you do not want printed, drag from column head D to column head G.
18To prevent the selected columns from being printed, click the Format menu, point to Column, and click Hide.
19To preview the section of the worksheet to be printed, click the File menu, and click Print Preview.
20To return to the active worksheet, in the Print Preview window, click Close.
21To unhide the hidden columns, click the Format menu, point to Column, and, click Unhide.

Printing a Chart

1To begin selecting the chart for printing, in the January worksheet, click the Total Sales by Hour chart.
2To begin printing a chart on a page by itself, click the File menu, and click Print.
3Notice that in the Print dialog box, in the Print what section, the Selected Chart option is selected. To print the chart, click OK.
4To begin formatting the chart area so that you can print the January worksheet without the chart, click the Format menu, and click Selected Chart Area.
5In the Format Chart Area dialog box, click the Properties tab.
6To prevent the selected chart from being printed, on the Properties tab, click Print object, and then click OK.
7To deselect the chart, and select a cell in the worksheet you intend to print, click cell D9.
8To print the worksheet that contains the selected cell, on the Standard toolbar, click the Print button, as indicated.
9To begin printing the chart at its actual size, click the blank chart area to the left of the Total Sales by Hour title, click the Format menu, and click Selected Chart Area.
10To allow the chart to be printed, on the Properties tab of the Format Chart Area dialog box, click the Print object to select it, and click OK.
11To preview the chart before printing it, click the File menu, and click Print Preview.
12To begin modifying the chart's print settings, click Setup.
13In the Page Setup dialog box, click the Chart tab.
14To set the chart so that it is no longer resized to fill the page, on the Chart tab, in the Printed chart size section, click the Custom option, and click OK.
15To begin printing the chart at the size shown, in the Print Preview window, click Print.
16To print the chart, in the Print dialog box, click OK.
