Inserting and Formatting a Table
| 1 | To insert a new slide to contain the table, click below the scroll box on the Slides tab scroll bar, click Slide 8, and then on the Formatting toolbar, click the New Slide button. |
| 2 | To give the slide a title, click the Click to add title placeholder, and for the purposes of this exercise, press SPACEBAR to have the title typed for you. |
| 3 | To select the layout, in the Slide Layout task pane, click three times below the scroll box on the scroll bar, and click the indicated Title and Table layout. |
| 4 | To specify the table's structure, double-click the table placeholder, and in the Insert Table dialog box, click the Number of rows Up arrow until the setting is 4, and then click OK. |
| 5 | To give yourself more space to work in, close the Slide Layout task pane, and double-click the title bar of the floating Tables and Borders toolbar to dock it at the bottom on the window. |
| 6 | To type a heading into the table's first cell, press SPACEBAR to have the heading typed for you, and then press TAB to move to the next cell. |
| 7 | To type another heading, press SPACEBAR and wait while text is typed for you, and then press TAB to move to the first cell of the next row. |
| 8 | To type entries into the remaining cells, press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |

| 15 | To split a cell vertically, draw a vertical line from top to bottom in the middle of the cell that contains the text Room 1. |
| 16 | To erase the line you just drew and merge the split cells, on the Tables and Borders toolbar, click the Eraser button, as indicated, and then click the vertical line that you just drew. |
| 17 | To turn off the Eraser tool, on the Tables and Borders toolbar, click the Eraser button again. |
| 18 | To insert a slide on which to display information from a Microsoft Excel worksheet, on the Slides tab, click Slide 6, and then on the Formatting toolbar, click the New Slide button. |

Inserting and Formatting a Chart
| 1 | To insert a chart on a slide formatted with a chart placeholder, on the Slides tab, click twice below the scroll box on the scroll bar, click Slide 11, and then in the Slide pane, double-click the chart placeholder. |
| 2 | To start importing chart data, click the blank datasheet cell above East, and to the left of 1st Qtr, as indicated, and on Graph's Standard toolbar, click the Import File button, as indicated. |
| 3 | To specify the worksheet to import, double-click the Garden Company folder, double-click the Training Classes folder, and double-click the TGC Sales file. |
| 4 | To complete the importing procedure, in the Import Data Options dialog box, verify that Sales and Entire sheet and Overwrite existing cells are selected, and then click OK. |
| 5 | To change data in the datasheet, click the Down scroll arrow in the datasheet, click cell A4, and for the purposes of this exercise, press SPACEBAR to have the data typed for you, and then press TAB. |
| 6 | Notice that the bar for Fall 2002 in the chart automatically updates with the new data. To change the data in cell B4, which is already selected, press SPACEBAR to have the data typed for you, and then press ENTER. |
| 7 | To close the datasheet, click the Close button on the datasheet's title bar. |

| 11 | To change the font size, on Graph's Formatting toolbar, click the Font Size arrow, and click 18. |
| 12 | To add gridlines, click the Chart menu, click Chart Options, click the Gridlines tab, and in the Value (Z) axis area, select the Major gridlines check box, and click OK. |
| 13 | To change the angle of the labels on the horizontal Category Axis, click on the axis to the left of the first bar in the graph (Winter 2002), and on the Formatting toolbar, click the Angle Counterclockwise button, as indicated. |
| 14 | To select the chart's walls (the areas between the chart's gridlines) so that you can change their color, on Graph's Standard toolbar, click the Chart Objects arrow, as indicated, and then click Walls in the list. |
| 15 | To change the wall color, click the Fill Color arrow, and click the indicated color in the palette. |
| 16 | To deselect the chart object and close Graph, click in the blank area to the right of the chart. |
| 17 | To make the chart smaller so that the text label at the bottom of the slide is visible, drag the lower-right handle up and to the left, and then click again in the blank area to the right of the chart. |
Inserting and Formatting an Organization Chart
| 1 | To insert an organization chart, click twice below the scroll box on the scroll bar of the Slides tab, click Slide 12, and double-click the diagram placeholder. |
| 2 | The Organization Chart diagram is already selected in the Diagram Gallery dialog box, so click OK. |
| 3 | To type a name and title in the top box, click the box, and for the purposes of this exercise, press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |
| 4 | To type a name and title in the lower-left box, click the box, and press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |
| 5 | To make an entry in the lower-middle box, click the box, and press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |
| 6 | To finish typing names and titles, click the lower-right box, and press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |
| 7 | To deselect the organization chart boxes, click the blank area to the right of the chart box for Karen Berg. |
| 8 | To add a box to the organization chart, click the Kim Akers box, and on the Organization Chart toolbar, click the Insert Shape arrow, and click Subordinate. |
| 9 | To type text in the new box, click the subordinate box, and press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |
| 10 | To add another subordinate box, click the David Ortiz box, and on the Organization Chart toolbar, click the Insert Shape button. |
| 11 | To type text in the new box, click the subordinate box, and press SPACEBAR to have the text typed for you. |
| 12 | To add another subordinate box, click the Gardening Teachers box, and on the Organization Chart toolbar, click the Insert Shape button. |

| 14 | To add an assistant box, click the Karen Berg box, and on the Organization Chart toolbar, click the Insert Shape arrow, and then click Assistant. |
| 15 | To type text in the new box, click the assistant box, press SPACEBAR, wait until the text is typed for you, and then click the blank area to the left of the assistant box. |
| 16 | To change the organization chart style, on the Organization Chart toolbar, click the indicated Autoformat button. |
| 17 | To select a new style, in the Organization Chart Style Gallery dialog box, click Square Shadows, and click OK. |
| 18 | To select all the boxes at the management level of the chart so you can adjust the formatting, click the Kim Akers box, and on the Organization Chart toolbar, click the Select arrow, and click Level. |
| 19 | To add the Karen Berg box to the selection, hold down SHIFT, and click the Karen Berg chart box. |
| 20 | To make the text in these chart boxes bold, on the Formatting toolbar, click the Bold button. |
| 21 | To make the organization chart smaller so that it does not obscure the slide's logo, drag the lower-right handle up and to the left. |
