Producing a Slide Show


Animating a Slide

1 To begin animating a slide, click the Slide Sorter View button (second button from the left) at the bottom of the Outline/Slide pane, and then click Slide 3.
2 To open the Slide Design task pane and select animation schemes, click the Slide Show menu, and click Animation Schemes.
3 To apply an effect to the slide, in the Slide Design task pane, under Apply to selected slides, click Fade in all.
4 To select multiple slides in the Slide Sorter view, click Slide 2, press and hold down the CTRL key, click Slide 5 and Slide 6, and release the CTRL key.
5 To apply an animation effect to the selected slides, in the Slide Design task pane, under Apply to selected slides, click Faded wipe.
6 To display Slide 1 in Normal view, double-click Slide 1.
7 To open the Custom Animation task pane, click the Slide Show menu, and click Custom Animation.
8 To select the title text of the slide, click on the title Training the New and Experienced Gardener.
9 To add a custom effect to the title text, in the Custom Animation task pane, click Add Effect, point to Entrance, and then click Fly In.
10 To add a custom animation to the subtitle, click the text The Garden Company, in the Custom Animation task pane, click Add Effect, point to Emphasis, and click Spin.
11 To view the Slide show, click the Slide Show button (third button from the left) at the bottom of the Outline/Slide pane.
12 To view the Fly In effect on the title, click anywhere on the screen, and to view the Spin effect on the subtitle, click again.
13 To end the slide show and return to Normal view, press the ESC key.
14 To select an animated item, in the Custom Animation task pane, in the Animation Order list, click the first item named Title 1: Training the …
15 To display the Fly In dialog box, click the Title 1 arrow, and then click Effect Options.
16 To play sound during the slide animation, in the Fly In dialog box, in the Enhancements area, click the Sound arrow, click once below the scroll box on the scroll bar, and click Camera.
17 To animate the selected text one letter at a time, click the Animate text arrow, click By letter, and then click OK.
18 To set the animation effect to play automatically, in the Custom Animation task pane under Modify: Fly In, click the Start arrow, and click With Previous.
19 To view the new animation effects, click the Slide Show button. Click anywhere on the screen to spin the subtitle, and then press ESC to end the slide show.
20 To advance to Slide 3, on the Slide pane scroll bar, click the Next Slide button twice.
21 To view the Fade dialog box, in the Custom Animation task pane, in the Animation Order list (below the Direction and Speed arrow) click the second animated item, click the arrow, and click Effect Options.
22 To animate the first level paragraph lines separately, click the Text Animation tab, click the Group text arrow, click By 1st level paragraphs, and then click OK.
23 To start the slide show and view the new animation effect, at the bottom of the Custom Animation task pane, click Slide Show.
24 To view the next bulleted item and the next indented item, click the screen. Click again to view the indented item, and then press ESC to end the slide show.
25 To select Slide 4, click the click the Next Slide button on the scroll bar.
26 To select the three objects on the slide, position the mouse pointer above and to the left of the top object, press and hold down the mouse button, drag the selection box to the bottom-right corner of the slide, and release the mouse button.
27 To animate the objects and connectors, in the Custom Animation task pane, click Add Effect, point to Entrance, and then click Diamond.
28 To re-order the animation, in the Animation Order list, click Elbow connector 5, at the bottom of the task pane, click the Re-Order down arrow, click the Start arrow, and then click After Previous.
29 To start the Slide Show, at the bottom of the Custom Animation task pane, click Slide Show.
30 To view the entire slide content, click the screen, and then press ESC to end the slide show.

Adding Transition Effects and Slide Timings

1 To begin adding a transition effect, click the Slide Show menu, and then click Slide Transition.
2 To apply the Box out effect, in the Slide Transition task pane, under Apply to selected slides, click Box out.
3 To preview the Box out transition effect, click the transition symbol below Slide 1.
4 To view the transition in Slide Show view, on the Slide Transition task pane, click the Slide Show button.
5 To display the subtitle animation, click the screen, and then press the ESC key to end the slide show.
6 To select all the slides in the presentation, click the Edit menu, and then click Select All.
7 To deselect Slide 1 from the selection, press and hold down the CTRL key, click Slide 1, and then release the CTRL key.
8 To begin adding a transition effect to the slides, in the Slide Transition task pane, under Apply to selected slides, click once below the scroll box on the scroll bar, and click Cover left.
9 To set the transition speed, under Modify transition, click the Speed arrow, and then click Medium.
10 To view the Cover left effect in Slide Show view, on the Slide Transition task pane, click the Slide Show button.
11 To advance to the next slide and watch the transition effect, click the mouse button.
12 To end the slide show and return to Slide Sorter view, press the ESC key.
13 In the Advance slide area, select the Automatically after check box, and in the timing box below the check box, click the up arrow twice to show 00:02.
14 To apply the current Slide Transition settings to all the slides, click Apply to All Slides.
15 To view the new slide transition timings, click Slide 1, on the Slide Transition task pane, click the Slide Show button.
16 To end the slide show and return to Slide Sorter view, press ESC.
17 To rehearse the slide timings for the slide show, on the Slide Sorter toolbar, click the Rehearse Timings button.
18 To add a new slide timing, in the Rehearsal toolbar, click the screen to display the subtitle animation, and then click the Next button (right arrow).
19 To rehearse the slide again, in the Rehearsal toolbar, click the Repeat button (curved arrow).
20 To stop the slide rehearsal, in the Rehearsal toolbar, click the Close button.
21 To save the new slide timings, click Yes.
22 To view the slide show with the new timings, on the Slide Transition task pane, click the Slide Show button.

Creating and Editing a Custom Slide Show

1 To begin creating a new custom slide show, click the Slide Show menu, click Custom Shows, and then click New.
2 To rename the Custom Slide show, in the Slide show name box, type Teacher Presentation.
3 To add a slide to your custom show, in the Slides in presentation box, click Slide 1, and then click Add.
4 To add more slides to your show, press and hold down the CTRL key, click slides 3, 4, 6, and 8, click once below the scroll box on the scroll bar, click slides 13 and 14, click Add, release the CTRL key, and click OK.
5 To start the slide show, in the Custom Shows dialog box, click Show, click through all the slides until Slide Sorter view appears.
6 To begin editing the custom show, click the Slide Show menu, click Custom Shows, and then click Edit.
7 To remove a slide from the custom show, in the Slides in custom show box, click on 2. Training the New.., and click Remove.
8 To close the Define Custom Show dialog box, click OK.
9 To start the slide show, click Show and then click through all the slides until Slide Sorter view appears.

Delivering a Slide Show

1 To begin navigating through the slide show, at the bottom of the Outline/Slide pane, click the Slide Show button (first button from the right).
2 To watch the subtitle animation, click the mouse, and then click again to navigate to the next slide.
3 To display the previous slide, press the P key.
4 To display the next slide, press the N key.
5 To navigate to the next screen, move the mouse, in the lower-left corner of the screen, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, and then click Next.
6 To return to the previous screen, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, and then click Previous.
7 To advance to a specific slide, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Go, and then click Slide Navigator.
8 In the Slide Navigator dialog box, click Slide 9. The Garden Company Team, and then click Go To.
9 To navigate by title, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Go, point to By Title, and then click 14 The Garden Company.
10 To end the slide show and return to Slide 1 in Normal view, click the screen, and then click the black screen.
11 To move to Slide 8, on the Outline/Slide pane, click three times below the scroll box on the scroll bar, and click the Slide 8 thumbnail.
12 To begin annotating slides during a slide show, click the Slide Show button.
13 To display the mouse pointer and the Slide Show Pop-up menu, press the A key.
14 To change the mouse pointer to the annotating pen tool, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Pointer Options, and then click Pen.
15 Position the pen tool under the word Sample, press and hold down the left mouse button, drag the mouse to the right until the entire word is underlined, release the mouse button.
16 To erase the annotation, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Screen, and then click Erase Pen.
17 To change the color of the annotation, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Pointer Options, point to Pen Color, and then click Cyan.
18 To underline the word $500, position the pen tool under the $ symbol in the number $500, press and hold down the left mouse button, drag the mouse to the right until the entire word is underlined, and release the mouse button.
19 To underline the words Fall/Winter, position the pen tool under F in Fall/Winter, press and hold down the left mouse button, drag the mouse to the right until the entire word is underlined, and release the mouse button.
20 To change the pen tool back to the pointer, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Pointer Options, and then click Automatic.
21 To end the slide show, press the ESC key.
22 To switch to Slide Sorter view, at the bottom of the Outline/Slide pane, click the Slide Sorter button (second button).
23 To begin hiding a slide in the slide show, click the thumbnail of Slide 10.
24 On the Slide Sorter toolbar, click the Hide Slide button.
25 To view the revised slide show, click Slide 9, and then click the Slide Show button.
26 To advance to the next slide, click anywhere on the screen.
27 To display the previous slide, press the P key.
28 To show the hidden slide, click the Slide Show Pop-up menu button, point to Go, point to By Title, then click (10) The Purpose Behind Offering Classes.
29 To end the slide show, press the ESC key.
