Creating a Diagram
| 1 | To display the Drawing toolbar, which contains buttons to help you insert and modify charts, diagrams, drawings, and graphics, click the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Drawing. |
| 2 | To insert an organization chart into the document, on the Drawing toolbar at the bottom of the Word window, click the Insert Diagram or Organization Chart button. |
| 3 | To accept the default diagram type, Organization Chart, click OK. |
| 4 | To move the Organization Chart toolbar out of the way, point to the Title bar of the Organization Chart toolbar, hold down the left mouse button, and drag the Organization Chart toolbar to the top of the Word window, until it docks below the Formatting toolbar. |

Inserting and Modifying Pictures
| 1 | To access the Picture toolbar, click the View menu, point to Toolbars, and click Picture. |
| 2 | To insert a picture at the top of the document, on the Picture toolbar, click the Insert Picture button (the first button on the left). |
| 3 | On the left side of the Insert Picture dialog box, click My Documents, double-click the Graphics folder, and double-click the Gardenco file. |
| 4 | To move the Garden Company logo to the background, behind the word Memorandum, click the logo, then on the Picture toolbar, click the Text Wrapping button, and in the menu that appears, click Behind Text. |
| 5 | To fade out the logo colors, on the Picture toolbar, click the Color button (the second button from the left) and then click Washout. |
| 6 | To make the picture darker and more gray, on the Picture toolbar, click the Less Brightness button (the sixth button from the left) four times. |
| 7 | To sharpen the picture, on the Picture toolbar, click the More Contrast button (the third button from the left) two times. |
| 8 | To make the logo smaller, point to the sizing handle in the lower-right corner of the logo, and when it changes to a diagonal double-arrow, hold down the left mouse button, drag the sizing handle up and to the left until the logo is approximately even with the 4-inch mark on the ruler above, and release the left mouse button. |
| 9 | To view the organization chart at the bottom of the document, click once below the scroll box on the vertical scroll bar. |
| 10 | To insert a piece of clip art into the organization chart, click any blank area of the chart and then on the Drawing toolbar, below, click the Insert Clip Art button. |
| 11 | To move the Picture toolbar out of the way, point to the Title bar of the Picture toolbar, hold down the left mouse button, drag the toolbar to the top of the window until it docks below the Formatting toolbar, and release the mouse button. |

| 20 | To deselect the chart, click at the end of the paragraph above it, just to the right of the period following the word Friday. |
| 21 | To insert a watermark that marks this document as confidential, click the Format menu, point to Background, and then click Printed Watermark. |
| 22 | To select a watermark style, in the Printed Watermark dialog box, click the Text watermark option, click the Text down arrow, click CONFIDENTIAL, and then click OK. |
Creating WordArt
| 1 | To see the layout of the document as it will appear when printed, click the View menu and then click Print Layout. |
| 2 | To move the insertion point to the third line of the document, press the DOWN ARROW key twice. |
| 3 | To insert WordArt, on the Drawing toolbar, click the Insert WordArt button. |

| 10 | To increase spacing between letters in the WordArt, on the WordArt toolbar, click the WordArt Character Spacing button (at the far right) and then click Very Loose. |
| 11 | To curve the text in the WordArt, on the WordArt toolbar, click the WordArt Shape button (the fifth button from the left) and then on the submenu, click Arch Up (Curve) (second row, first on the left). |
| 12 | To deselect the WordArt and see the finished effect, click above the WordArt, to the left of the sentence that begins We're very excited.... |
Drawing and Modifying Shapes
| 1 | To place the insertion point at the end of the document, hold down the CTRL key and press the END key on your keyboard. |
| 2 | To begin drawing a picture of balloons at the bottom of the document, on the Drawing toolbar, click the Oval button. |
| 3 | To insert a circle, click in the upper-left quarter of the drawing canvas. |
| 4 | To create a copy of this circle, hold down the CTRL key, point to the circle, hold down the left mouse button, drag the circle to the right to a position at the upper center of the drawing canvas, and release the mouse button and the CTRL key. |
| 5 | To create another copy of the circle to the right of the first two, hold down the CTRL key, point to the newest circle, hold down the left mouse button, drag the circle to a position in the upper-right quarter of the drawing canvas, and release the mouse button and the CTRL key. |
| 6 | To fill each of the circles with color, click the first circle on the left, then on the Drawing toolbar, click the Fill Color down arrow, and click the Pink color box (fourth row, first from the left). |
| 7 | Click the middle circle, then on the Drawing toolbar, click the Fill Color down arrow, and click the Lime color box (third row, third from the left). |
| 8 | Click the right circle, then on the Drawing toolbar, click the Fill Color down arrow, and click the Turquoise color box (fourth row, fifth from the left). |
| 9 | To draw a curved line for a string below each of your balloons, on the Drawing toolbar, click AutoShapes, point to Lines, and then click the Curve button (second row, first item on left). |
| 10 | To place the line, click the bottom of the left balloon, click a spot about an inch directly below the balloon, move the pointer down and to the right about an inch, and double-click that spot. |
| 11 | To copy the curved line to the other two circles, hold down the CTRL key, point to the top segment of the curved line, hold down the left mouse button, drag the copied line to the bottom of the middle circle, and then release the mouse button and the CTRL key. |
| 12 | To create a third line, hold down the CTRL key, point to the top segment of the newest line, hold down the left mouse button, drag the copied line to the bottom of the right circle, and then release the mouse button and the CTRL key. |
| 13 | To select both the turquoise balloon and its string, hold down the CTRL key and click the turquoise circle. |
| 14 | To make Word recognize these two objects as a single grouped object, on the Drawing toolbar, click Draw and then click Group. |

| 18 | To reduce the amount of white space around the balloons, on the Drawing Canvas toolbar, click the Fit Drawing to Contents button. |
| 19 | To move the words Extra! Extra! to a separate line, click the RIGHT ARROW key on your keyboard to place the insertion point at the beginning of the text and then press the ENTER key. |
